not worth it.
not worth it.
Well. Ive looked up places where visits were made in the last ten years and found all the information to be accurate and timely. In addition, the histories of the locales were extremely interesting and shed new light the sense of what these places were all about. This APP shall be most useful in preparing for future trips, as well as an educational way to spend a few free moments. It is a big world out there! A job well done and worth having on your computer.
Fast execution in opening. Very accurate information of the sites. The computer generated voice reading from the pictures on the left sidebar is the best. At $5…this app is a deal. If you like to travel, or want to travel; get this app.
This is really a great app to use. The only issue I have is the text is small when reading any pages on there. Is it possible to inlcude an option on text size (small, medium, large) so that users can choose how they like to read. When the texts are small like as they are now...I have to lean forward which is not really a good thing to do since it could strain the eyes.
I started with the free app and noticed the little yellow man that I could place anywhere on the map that would provide more information (i think) was not available so I downloaded the premium version but the little yellow man is still not available to me. Otherwise great app, loads quickly and provides a world of information. Very informative, educational and accurate too!
I just bought this app and love it, I have traveled to many places and with this app. I can now revisit the sights and memories of my trips. I had a work mate ask me about New York and I was trying to explain, so I used this app to show her what I was talking about. It really helped. This is a great app.
Difficult to navigate. Hard to get it to switch from one landmark to another.
I like this App, but why upon closing do we have to be asked if we want to view other Apps by this developer? I buy Apps to do away with annoying "pop-ups"…….Fix it!
Great App.to learn capitals of the world and very user friendly!
It is painstakingly boring to look at a small map in the corner and useless administrative data in the half of the screen size. Potographs are not amusing at all even accompanied with the harsh American accent commentaries. Wiki texts, what a silly idea. First of all, it have to be just a good MAP. The rest - is dispensable. Your pityful map leaves a headache, nothing more.
Horrible user interface. Advertising (all out apps, AudioGuidia, Freebase) remains also on the paid version, on the main screen (at least move it on the About window). Setup on the main window instead of the menu bar (it is there in *every* mac App, and it used seldom, you don’t need it there). Please use icons instead of “<<” and “>>”. “Terms of use” in the bottom status bar ?!?! Really not usable, but the idea is good.
This application takes a completely different approach from a traditional published travel guide or even a travel app. Instead of a systematic, and often incomplete list of hotels, restaurants and popular tourist destinations, World Explorer provides a list of "places of interest" listed in Wikipedia associated with the destination you choose. Not only do you see the usual tourist destinations the list also includes some more obscure locations that might not turn up in traditional travel guides but might still be places that are very important to undertsanding that community. This works thanks to the breadth of Wikipedia. The list of places of interest can be ordered alphbetically, by distance or by user rating. Theres a Google Map window of the specific place youre viewing and a window with the Wikipedia article. You can get a Stephanie Hawking computer voice to read some of the articles to you. Theres a listing of current local time and weather. The app is simply assembling already-existing information but it does it well. A neat travel tool.
Great App. Suggestion the narrations could use a more natural sound or even an native accent, and then how about Full Screen Images / Videos. Rating 5+
This app is helping me get acclimated to my new home. I like the pictures and the links.
I was a little skeptical of a two-dollar app that made such big claims, but after exploring the world with it, I am amazed at the depth of content it has. Ive visited many places around the world, and the information is (usually) accurate and deep. The photos are lovely, and the addition of street-view navegation is a bonus. There are a few mistakes in the maps, that are probably inherited from Google or Bing or wherever.
i did not even get it yet i ordered it 5 days ago and still did not get this one the preimum!!! this is so annyoing i really thought this game was good but it acts slow but it would of been a helpful game!
Makes it ever so easy to plan a trip ... I can target just the right places I want to visit while in the area. GREAT App!!!
This is a great app! The first time I used it, I "ran" it on my hometown, and I was really surprised how well all of our local attractions were covered. Since then, Ive used it for checking sites near and far. Its user friendly, has loads of information. A good investment.
My biggest complaint is that the map in the Premium version comes at a fixed size and width. Cant expand to make bigger. Who doesnt love a big map? Boooooo.
This is a great app! I travel a lot for work and pleasure so its great being able to identify landmarks before my trips (especially on business trips!). Keep up the great work. For the person who rated this 1 star and said this isnt a good game, this never claims to be a game. Instead its an excellent reference app.
